The Embark Story
Hi, we're Bree & Eric of B&E’s Trees! We started our off-grid maple syrup farm in 2011 to build a life doing what we love, working with the woods and playing outside. Since 2013 we have been crafting our Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup in collaboration with Central Waters Brewing Company. The rich flavors imparted by the bourbon barrels brought B&E’s syrup beyond the breakfast table into culinary and cocktail spaces.

We are once again moving maple into new spaces with the launch of Embark. Eric’s lifelong love of endurance athletics and multi-sport adventures has lead him to try a variety of commercially available energy gels. He found the flavors synthetic, textures awkward, and he never wanted to use them unless he absolutely had to- he just didn’t feel good about what he was putting in his body.

Being the curious type, he began researching what his body really needed for sustained energy and performance, and found that maple syrup had superior performance nutrition and longer-lasting energy than what was available, plus the flavor was amazing! The idea for Embark was formed!

Embark Adventure Packs are pouched maple syrup combined with a few simple, organic ingredients to provide clean nutrition and outstanding flavor for ultra-athletes, everyday adventurers and culinary explorers. The flavors were developed with the help of a panel of professional chefs, foodies and brewers; a parallel panel of endurance athletes tested the performance.
